17th Annual Go Wild! Event

Rappahannock River Valley National Wildlife Refuge and the Rappahannock Wildlife Refuge Friends invite you to celebrate the Refuge’s 17th anniversary at the annual “Go Wild!” event at the Hutchinson Tract on Sunday, October 13, 2012 from 1:00-5:00 p.m.
“Go Wild!” will be an exciting, fun-filled day packed with activities for all ages. Enjoy live music throughout the afternoon; walk the 2.3 miles of nature trails; visit with conservation exhibitors offering information on local efforts; and participate in a number of events including a birds and binoculars scavenger hunt for children, nature walks and birdhouse building. The Friends will host a silent auction from 1:00-4:00 p.m.
For interested paddlers, “Go Wild!” will begin with a guided kayak and canoe tour of Mount Landing Creek from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. The tour, led by Gordon Page, will leave promptly from the kayak/canoe launch at the Hutchinson Tract at 10 a.m. Bring your own kayak or canoe; you must wear a life vest.
Enjoy free hot dogs, baked beans, cookies, cider and lemonade provided by the Friends Group. There will be free raffle drawings for a range of prizes! For more information, contact refuge headquarters.
