Whooping Crane 3-29 Thumb

These 3 Whooping Cranes were part of the amazing 19 birds present on the morning of 29 March 2012, in the flats north of Big Salt Marsh.

Whooping Cranes are often seen in pairs, as with this pair of adults. Although they are the same color, often the male can be distinguished by its more alert behavior.
