Optima National Wildlife Refuge offers wildlife-dependent recreation, including opportunities to watch and photograph wildlife and public hunting.
All hunting is restricted to shotgun or archery. Special hunting regulations can be found in the public lands portion of the Oklahoma Hunting Guide. Fishing is not permitted on the refuge.
The Optima Wildlife Management Area (WMA) encompasses 8,062 acres adjacent to the refuge along the North Canadian (Beaver) River, including Optima Reservoir. This area is managed by the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation and is open to public hunting.
