  • Permits

Hunting, wildlife viewing, interpretation, environmental education and photography are generally allowed on all Northern Tallgrass Prairie National Wildlife Refuge lands without a permit, unless otherwise posted. The exception to this is if the proposed activity is for commercial use or financial gain; in this case, a permit may be required. Permits are required for the following activities: woodcutting, grazing, haying, trapping, scientific research, large group events and any material collecting. Please contact the refuge at 320-273-2191 or northerntallgrassprairie@fws.gov for more information or to obtain a permit.
