Plan Your Visit
Welcome to the Llano Seco Unit of the North Central Valley Wildlife Management Area! The Llano Seco Unit is open to the public, and is the only FWS-owned property within the NCVMA. The majority of the NCVMA consists of conservation easements on private properties. Learn more about Llano Seco by clicking here.
Visitor opportunities at the Llano Seco Unit include a walking trail and 2 viewing platforms. The Llano Seco Unit of the North Central Valley WMA is closed to hunting, but the California Department of Fish and Wildlife's Llano Seco Unit of Upper Butte Basin Wildlife Area is open to hunting (click here for more information).
While visiting the Llano Seco Unit, consider also visiting the Sacramento NWR which is about 20 minutes west. Stop in at the Visitor Center at the Sacramento NWR for maps, orientation, and gather information on wildlife sightings, exciting programs, and guided tours. You can also browse the bookstore, pick up a wildlife checklist and view the exhibits. To enhance your visit, the Sacramento NWR lends binoculars and field guides.
