Join refuge volunteers as we work on seasonal projects to restore and reconstruct our native tallgrass prairie and oak savanna ecosystems!
Join us for a FREE family-friendly and fun-filled day of celebrating Iowa's pollinators! Keep the kids busy with crafts, activities, bug hunts, hikes and children's story time. Visitors can also view pollinator specimens and native plants, enjoy guided butterfly walks, and listen in on informative talks from local garden and pollinator experts. Participants may also take home a starter pack of native seeds! Snacks are available for purchase. For more information, contact Brianna Patrick at 515-994-3400 or email@example.com.
Would you like to celebrate bison and the prairie ecosystem that sustains them? Come enjoy bison talks with an expert, book readings and signings by local authors, music, weaver's guild demonstrations, rope making demonstrations, games, crafts and much more! This event has something for everyone, and is fun for all ages. We will even have a bison chip throwing contest towards the end of the day. A lunch, including bison burgers, is available for purchase from 11am-1pm.
