SUMMER 2016 Times and Dates

Red Sleep Mountain Drive is now open daily for the Summer Season, weather and road conditions permitting. This is a 17-mile, one-way gravel road which gains 2,000 feet in elevation. We recommend you plan at least 1½ to 2 hours for the trip. You need to start Red Sleep Mountain Drive by 6 p.m. to be able to finish before the front gate closes at dark.

The 14-mile roundtrip Prairie Drive is also open daily. There is two-way traffic along this route so please drive carefully.

THE REFUGE CLOSES TO ALL PUBLIC USE AT NIGHT.

The Visitor Center is open on the following weekends – May 14 & 15, May 21 & 22 – and will be closed weekdays until further notice.

Be a safe and courteous drive and obey all posted signs.

We make every effort to keep these dates and time up-to-date but unforeseen events, such as winter weather or road damage, may cause changes or closures. For more information, you may contact the National Bison Range office during Office Hours at 406-644-2211, extension 0.
