WINTER Times and Dates


The 14-mile roundtrip Winter Drive (Prairie Drive) is open daily, weather and road conditions permitting. Road conditions can change rapidly during the winter and roads can have drifts, packed snow and/or ice. Drive accordingly.

Red Sleep Mountain Drive is closed for the Winter Season. Plans are to reopen sometime in May 2016.
Front Gate Hours 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
 
Please note, gate times will change frequently as days get shorter through winter. Please check back for current times.

THE REFUGE CLOSES TO ALL PUBLIC USE AT NIGHT.

Visitor Center WINTER Hours
Open Monday to Thursday – 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Closed Weekends and Federal Holidays.

SPECIAL NOTE: the Visitor Center will be closed from February 19 through early May, 2016.

FEDERAL HOLIDAY VISITOR CENTER CLOSURES:
Monday, January 18, 2016 – Martin Luther King Birthday observance.
Monday, February 15, 2016 – Presidents’ Day Holiday.

The Winter Drive (Prairie Drive) is open daily, weather and road conditions permitting.

Be a safe and courteous drive and obey all posted signs.
