Operating Hours

Front Gate Hours: 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Red Sleep Mountain Drive open for the season.  Visitors should plan to start Red Sleep by 6:00 p.m. so as to finish before the Front Gate closes for the evening.  Please note, gate times will change frequently as days get shorter.  Please check back for current times.

To promote wildlife viewing along Mission Creek, the Winter Drive is open to two-way traffic after Labor Day.

The Refuge closes to all public use at night.

SPECIAL NOTE:  

Red Sleep Mountain Drive will be closed some time between October 2 and October 7 while staff move bison.   Check with staff as the dates get closer.


Visitor Center 

CURRENT - Summer Hours (mid-May to mid-October):
Daily (includes weekends and holidays) - 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. 

Winter Hours (mid-October to mid-May):
Open daily about 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.


Please note that to promote wildlife viewing along Mission Creek, the Winter Drive is open to two-way traffic after Labor Day.  Do not pass the DO NOT ENTER signs at the turn-around at the end.
Be a safe and courteous driver and obey all posted signs.
