    Fishing is only allowed at Dorris reservoir during specific months out of the year. The reservoir can be a productive fishery, especially for warmwater species like crappie and bass. Click below for more regulations regarding Dorris reservoir.

  • Refuge Visitor Center

    See wild creatures up close and personal in the Modoc NWR Visitors Center. Here you will find a number of mounted specimens representing many of the species of animals that can be found at Modoc. In addition you can have questions answered personally by staff members, and if you're interested learn about the Refuge's history.  

  • Environmental Education

    The refuge invites educational classes to join us for field trips in the spring and fall. Refuge staff may also make trips to local schools to give lessons about the refuge and it's flora and fauna. Contact us at (530) 233-3572 to learn more about our environmental education program.
