The Lostwood Wetland Management District has dozens of Waterfowl Production Area's which offer visitors many opportunities for public use.

 

 

 

  • Hunting

    Lostwood Wetland Management District has healthy populations of Sharp-tailed Grouse located throughout the district. During the fall hunting season, waterfowl and deer hunters have many opportunities to hunt throughout the district.  

    Waterfowl Production Areas (WPAs) are open to hunting in accordance with State regulations. Access to WPAs is by foot traffic only. Hunters must use and possess only non-toxic shot when hunting with a shotgun. Lead bullets in rifles are allowed in accordance with State regulations.  

     

  • Fishing

    Most of the Waterfowl Production Areas within the district are to shallow to support healthy fish populations.

    All Waterfowl Production Areas are open to summer and winter fishing unless otherwise noted. Fishing on WPAs is subject to state laws.

  • Wildlife Viewing

    Wildlife observation is permitted year-round on the public use areas and Waterfowl Production Areas throughout the district unless otherwise noted. Wildlife can be seen from outside the boundaries of a WPA in your personal vehicle. If you choose to enter on foot and explore the assortment of plants and animals, please respect the nesting birds and other wildlife during your visit.
