Below is a checklist of the species recorded on the Kenai National Wildlife Refuge. The list of 1791 species includes 31 mammals, 154 birds, one amphibian, 20 fish, 545 arthropods, 6 molluscs, 6 other animals, 502 vascular plants, 183 bryophytes, 15 fungi, and 328 lichens. Of the total number of species, 1701 are native, 87 are non-native, and three include both native and non-native subspecies. Non-native species are indicated by dagger symbols (†) and species having both
native and non-native subspecies are indicated by double dagger symbols (‡). Thirteen species no longer occur on the Refuge, indicated by strikethroughs ( ).
