Deer Hunting

Hunting PagesIroquois National Wildlife Refuge is open to hunting during most New York State hunting seasons in accordance with New York State laws and refuge specific regulations. Refuge permits are required for all hunting on the refuge. Printed regulations are available from staff at the visitor contact station, in boxes located in the parking lot of the visitor contact station, or by clicking the links below:

The refuge is currently reviewing our hunt program and some information below is subject to change. Please check back periodically to make sure you are in compliance with the most recent rules and regulations.

Deer Hunting Fact Sheet (pdf)

Beginning with the 2014 season the refuge instituted a one sheet annual Refuge permit for deer. When signed and dated on the front, the sheet becomes a permit which is valid for the duration of the hunt seasons (archery, muzzleloader and regular). The permits will be available online and at the Visitor Center right before the season begins.
