Photographers, have you captured great shots of Huron National Wildlife Refuge? Photos of the refuge are needed and you may be able to help. Photos may be used on the refuge website, on signs, in brochures and other publications, by a refuge friends group, or may be used in other ways to help promote the refuge, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service or the National Wildlife Refuge System.

Photos are needed of: 

• Songbirds, water birds and raptors
• Animals
• Plants including wildflowers, trees, etc.
• Scenery/Landscape
• Recreation
• Habitats

Specific Needs: 

• Cedar Waxwing
• Bald Eagle
• Landscape – especially sunset or sunrise photos
• Gulls
• Recreation

Please note that only Lighthouse Island is open to the public. All other islands are closed to the public. Please refer to the rules and regulation for specific details.

To donate a photograph, please fill out the Copyright Release Agreement (FWS Form 3-2259) then either mail a digital copy to:

Instructions: 

• Email or mail a hard copy of the filled out Copyright Release Agreement Form with a description of the photos you have agreed to donate.
• Please do not crop the photograph in advance. 
• Label each photo with the subject, your name, the date the photo was taken, and if you can, the location it was taken (i.e. Lighthouse Island trail near boathouse).
