Friends Organization

Established in 2006, the International Wildlife Refuge Alliance (IWRA) is the official Friends organization for the Detroit River International Wildlife Refuge. IWRA is an independent, donor-based, nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting the mission and purposes of the refuge by working through partnerships to protect, conserve, and manage the refuge’s wildlife and habitats. The Alliance provides vital services to the Detroit River International Wildlife Refuge such as community outreach, habitat restoration, special events support, advocacy, and fundraising.
