The Friends of Crane Meadows National Wildlife Refuge, Inc. is a non-profit group, officially recognized by the state on July 14, 2006. Fund-raising activities help them to provide assistance and support for refuge projects and educational programs. They have formed partnerships with community organizations with a common goal of connecting children and families with nature. They work to preserve natural areas, and encourage conservation of water, land and wildlife. They also support expanding refuge lands by purchase of acreage from willing sellers.
