Friday, November 14 at 10 am. Come and talk turkey with us in November at Refuge Storytime. There's so much to learn about this wise and wonderful bird. Plan to join us for this monthly program for pre-schoolers presented by the Environmental Education committee. Meet at the Refuge Visitor Center.
Saturday, November 1 at 10 am. The annual meeting of the Friends of the 500th takes place on Saturday, November 1 and begins at 10 am. Come out to the Visitor Center for the business meeting and hear reports from the Refuge and all Friends committees. A potluck lunch will follow. Please bring food or drink to share with others.
Saturday, November 15 at 7 am. Meet at the Refuge Visitor Center. Most of the summer residents have left, so we'll see a mixture of lingering migrants, year-round residents, and if we get lucky, one or two unexpected appearances. Dress for the weather. No binoculars? No problem! We have some to loan.
Saturday, December 13 at 8 am. Meet at the Refuge Visitor Center. On this early winter birdwalk we'll look for straggling migrants as well as our permanent residents, and keep an eye out for returning winter birds such as Pine Siskin flocks and the majestic Rough-legged Hawk. Dress for the weather. We have binoculars to loan.
