Black Rail 512x219National Wildlife Refuges work closely with other researchers, Universities and science-based organizations interested in supporting the agency's wildlife conservation mission.

The following are some of the recent research projects conducted on the Brazoria National Wildlife Refuge.

  • Assessing black rail occupancy and habitat along the Texas Gulf Coast 
  • Population genetics and conservation of seaside sparrows along the Gulf Coast 
  • Foraging behavior and point count census of forest songbirds 
  • Long term winter songbird banding project
