The Big Oaks Conservation Society is the non-profit (501c3) support group of Big Oaks National Wildlife Refuge. The membership consists of people who care about wildlife and who want to make Big Oaks a place where wildlife and visitors mutually benefit. The Big Oaks Conservation Society works closely with the refuge staff in their efforts to educate visitors about the wildlife and natural habitats of the refuge. Members have the opportunity to get involved with the management of Indiana's largest national wildlife refuge. Big Oaks National Wildlife Refuge's public use days are Mondays, Fridays, and the second and fourth Saturdays of the month (closed on federal holidays) during the public use period from mid-April through November.
