Just For Kids

Kids With Binocs 512x512

Audubon NWR is an excellent family destination, providing a great place to introduce youth to outdoor exploration and adventure. A variety of youth activities and opportunities are available throughout the year, which include: guided field trips for organized groups, Junior Duck Stamp Program, and the Youth Conservation Corps (YCC) employment program.

The Refuge is also open for youth and their families to enjoy their own outdoor adventures. 'Lets Go Outside' backpacks, which are filled with outdoor exploration equipment can be borrowed and used to explore the prairie wetlands and grasslands along the prairie nature trail. During the winter season, snowshoes and poles can be borrowed and used to hike across the snow-covered landscape.
