A one-half mile self-guided foot trail is located at the Refuge Headquarters. The drive and trails provide opportunities for nature study, wildlife photography, and observation. All are open from May through October, during daylight hours. For a unique view of the Refuge and surrounding area, a 100-foot observation tower is located near the Refuge Headquarters. You can obtain a key for the tower during office hours during snow-free months. Know Before You GoWhen planning a trip to the Refuge, it is important to wear appropriate footwear for hiking and to dress for the weather.
