The Discovery Backpacks include; Energy Optics Binoculars, field guide of either bugs, butterflies, birds, wildflowers or trees, a journal for writing or drawing, a Nature Ranger activity book, 52 Activity Cards, two-way bug viewer, magnifying glass and field press.

You can check these backpacks out at our refuge for free, or have them carried to your classroom by Park Ranger Tara Dowdy.

Structured and unstructured play is an important component of a child’s learning and growing process. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service knows that the health of the earth depends on healthy children.  Healthy children go outside and develop their sense of wonder. Bring children to the Reelfoot National Wildlife Refuge to experience the outdoors and the wildlife that lives within it!
