Location and Operating Information

HOURS & SEASON OF OPERATION

Season: Mid-May through Mid-September
Hours: 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

DIRECTIONS

Located on the East Bank of the Sacramento River downstream from Red Bluff. The salmon viewing plaza can be reached by heading East from Interstate 5 on Antelope Boulevard (Highway 36) to Sale Lane. Turn right (South) on Sale Lane at McDonalds and go 2-1/4 miles to the salmon viewing plaza.

RECREATION AND EDUCATION

TV viewing of salmon may best be observed from August through mid-September from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Fish Trap Operations occur Monday through Friday from Mid-May through Mid-September, but can vary during this time depending upon the number of fish.

The recreational area is normally open year round with limited camping available (for more information 530-824-5196).

Daily updates of fish counts at the dam can be obtained by calling 530-527-1408 during the season of operation. Picnic sites, restrooms, and boat launch facilities are also provided by the U.S. Forest Service.
