Partnerships:
The large land area and ownership profile of the watershed lead
to a partnership approach to conservation. Cooperative strategies
and a" landscape" viewpoint will be required to protect
the natural diversity of the watershed. The Conte Act authorizes
the creation of cooperative agreements to share costs with state
and local governments, and other public and private entities.
Protecting, restoring and enhancing habitats and species will
take place through cooperative education and management efforts.
