This directory has index layers that show the extent, resolution and date of orthoimagery available for Maine. Some of the orthoimagery is available in GOMP GIS DOQ directory, many layers available throught the internet from MEGIS may be added to ArcMap by adding the appropriate Layer File from \GIS\ME\DOQ\LayerFiles, and others are available from MEGIS WMS by adding the service to ArcCatalog (see bottom of page for more WMS info). Adding the Layer Files is most likely the easiest method.

Some of the imagery above may be brought into ArcMap directly from the web by adding a Web Mapping Service (WMS) in ArcMap.
Many of these orthophotos may be added to ArcMap by adding the appropriate Layer file in \GIS\ME\DOQ\LayerFiles\.
Alternately, iIn ArcCatalog expand GIS Servers and double-click on Add WMS Server. Enter this URL:
http://geolibportal.maine.gov/wms/mapserv.exe?map=c:/wms/orthos.map&
and then the service should appear in ArcCatalog. It can then be added to ArcMap.
