Habitat Mapping for Other Priority Wildlife in the Gulf of Maine Watershed

Subsequent to the original mapping habitat of 64 species in the Gulf of Maine Watershed, we developed maps for additional species which are priorities for major conservation partners. Partners in Flight (PIF, see http://www.partnersinflight.org/), The International Shorebird Survey (ISS, see http://www.im.nbs.gov/iss/iss.html), and the North American Waterbird Conservation Plan (CWCP, see http://www.nacwcp.org/) identified these species as part of a "North American Bird Conservation Initiative", in which the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service participates.  

The following species, in combination with many of the 64 initially mapped, are priorities for those organizations. USFWS Region 5 Migratory Bird Management Office (MBMO) also designated additional bird species, and habitat for these also was mapped.

The following table lists the additional species by the "field" name in the 3 respective grouped grids; the grid names are the column headings. Metadata (information about each habitat grid) is available for each species, as is the narrative habitat model.  Each model explains how environmental and occurrence data were used to create a map for that species, reflecting the relative habitat suitability of areas within the Gulf of Maine Watershed.
