MAINE. Selected the Midwinter waterfowl survey segments by calculating the number of scoter per unit area; from the database gis/me/mdifw/wws95.dbf. SELECTED YEARS > 1984 ( [Dateno] > 1984) and ([sctr] > 2 ); where area is in square meters, calculated [Max_sctr] / [maxarea] * 100000.  This is maximum number per 10 ha; then joined output to shapefile gis/me/mdifw/wws.shp and saved all polys with sctrperarea > 0.

NEW HAMPSHIRE. Selected the Midwinter segments by number of scoter per unit area; from the database gis/gom/habstudy/species/bird/waterfowl/blackduck/mws-nh.dbf; select records ( [Yearno] > 1984) and ([Spec] = "sctr" ), calculate scoter per unit area as: [Max_No] / [area] * 100000; then joined output to shapefile gis/gom/habstudy/species/bird/waterfowl/blackduck/wws.shp and saved all polys which had sctrperarea > 0.

MASSACHUSETTS. Selected the Midwinter segments by number of scoter per unit area; from the database gis/gom/habstudy/species/bird/waterfowl/blackduck/mws-ma.dbf; select records ( [Yearno] > 1984) and ([Spec] = "sctr" ), calculate scoter per unit area as: [Max_No] / [area] * 100000; then joined output to shapefile gis/gom/habstudy/species/bird/waterfowl/blackduck/wws.shp and saved all polys which had sctrperarea > 0.

Merged the three state selection sets into gomsctrwws.shp
