Abstract:
Land cover from five interpretations of Landsat data, and wetland cover from photo-
interpretations were combined to yield a 31-class raster (grid) digital coverage,
"GOMLC7", for the Gulf of Maine watershed. This is projected as UTM zone 19, NAD83,
dimensions in meters, and has a 30m cell size. For details see the narrative:

Purpose:
Land cover information was used, in combination with other information, to identify
habitats for species of concern in the Gulf of Maine.
Supplemental_Information:
Themes of higher resolution or data quality were overlaid on more generic or older
data to produce a product having best available interpretation for each cover class.

Land cover sources were reclassed to conform with the CCAP data, spatially adjusted
to optimize correspondence with 1:24,000 data, and merged, selecting the superior
classes where data overlapped. Then NWI data were reclassed (simplified) and
overlaid on the land cover; see landcover_data_methods.htm
