The river temperature at Holyoke yesterday was 18.5 degrees Celsius, 65.3 degrees Fahrenheit and the river flow today is approximately 7,190 cubic feet per second. Holyoke lifted 45,775 American shad yesterday and 2 Atlantic Salmon. The Gatehouse at Turners Falls counted 1,375 American shad as of 5/15/2012. Vernon has counted 1414 American Shad. The West Springfield Project has counted its first Atlantic Salmon of the season. The Barrett Fishway in Holyoke and the Turners Falls Fishway are now open, Wednesday through Sunday, 9AM - 5PM, through June 17, 2012. They will be open Memorial Day. The Vernon Fishway in Vermont is opened. The hours are 7:30 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday.
