SUMMARY: Notice is hereby given that the National Marine Mammal 
Laboratory, Alaska Fisheries Science Center, National Marine Fisheries 
Service, 7600 Sand Point Way NE, Bin C15700, Seattle, Washington 98115-
0070, has been issued an amendment to scientific research Permit No. 
967 to extend the area of take to include Alaska waters.

SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION: On January 14, 1999, notice was published in 
the Federal Register (63 FR 2472) that an amendment of Permit No. 697, 
issued July 11, 1995 (60 FR 37053), had been requested by the above-
named organization. The requested amendment has been granted under the 
authority of the Marine Mammal Protection Act of 1972, as amended (16 
U.S.C. 1361 et seq.), the provisions of Sec. 216.39 of the Regulations 
Governing the Taking and Importing of Marine Mammals (50 CFR part 216).
