Wildlife species are going about their business "as usual".... Even the slower moving species, like this common snapping turtle and canebrake rattlesnake, have been being seen regularly by firefighters of the Evans Road Fire. With recent rains, the surface fire has been greatly reduced, but the reality of the fire lies beneath the surface as the groundfire smolders....
