(Interested in Internships?)

Pee Dee National Wildlife Refuge in Wadesboro, NC has one RV hookup available for volunteer campers. The hookup is located in the refuge maintenance facility, seven miles north of Wadesboro, NC. The site is on a gravel pad with a small pond and picnic tables nearby. Despite its rural setting, the Refuge is just an hour from Charlotte, NC. Albemarle and Monroe, NC are each about a half-hour drive. Wadesboro offers extensive fast food dining, grocery stores and a small Wal-Mart.

The Refuge offers paid utilities, a washing machine and clothesline. A telephone, full kitchen and a restroom are in the shop adjacent to the pad.

Work includes general maintenance, litter pickup, administrative assistance and various other duties. There is no public camping on the Refuge. Each volunteer is expected to work 20-24 hours per week. Scheduling is flexible, but three to four month shifts are preferred. Scheduling generally takes place several months in advance of arrival.

If you are interested in this RV volunteer opportunity, please contact Refuge Manager J.D. Bricken at 704-694-4424.
