Status:
September 2007 - The Washington Maritime National Wildlife Complex
announces the beginning of a planning process to develop a Comprehensive
Conservation Plan for the Protection Island and San Juan Islands National
Wildlife Refuges (refuges) (see Planning Update 1). Public comments are
requested to identify management issues for the refuges.
August 2008 - A detailed public scoping report is posted below, as is Planning Update 2. A summary of public comments is provided in the Update, and two public open house meetings are announced for September 23 and 24, 2008 (see Planning Update 2, page 8, for details).
