Proposed Addition

What is the Proposed Addition?
The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service proposes to add land to the Upper Klamath National Wildlife Refuge by purchasing the 2,671-acre Barnes Ranch, and accepting transfer of the 7,215-acre Agency Lake Ranch from the Bureau of Reclamation. The Service and its partners see the addition as an important step toward implementing future habitat restoration actions for improving the water quality, quantity, and aquatic habitat conditions in Agency and Upper Klamath Lakes.

Current Status:
Planning Update 1, which describes preliminary land protection alternatives is available now (posted on the left). Comments on the information provided in the Update are due to Richard Smith by May 13, 2005 (see contact information below).
