Comprehensive
Conservation Plan

Status:
August 2010
The
Hakalau Forest National Wildlife Refuge (Refuge) has developed a Draft
Comprehensive Conservation Plan and Environmental Assessment (CCP/EA)
for public review and comments. A summary of the Draft CCP/EA is in Planning
Update 3 and in our press
release announcing the following open house, and the public comment
period, which runs from August 16 to September 15, 2010.

Update 2 was distributed to our mailing list, in it we provided a
summary of the public comments we received, described the issues we identified
in the comments, and shared our draft vision statement for the Refuge.
February-March 2009
To
kick off the planning process, Planning
Update 1 was distributed to our mailing list, and two
Public Open House Meetings were held in March 2009 to provide opportunities
for you to learn about the refuge and tell us about the natural resource
issues important to you.
