 Comprehensive Conservation Plan


Current Status:
A multi-year process is underway to develop a Comprehensive Conservation Plan (CCP) for Hakalau Forest National Wildlife Refuge.

Step 1. To kick off the planning process, two Public Open House Meetings are scheduled to provide opportunities for you to learn about the refuge and tell us about the natural resource issues important to you. As part of step 1, Planning Update 1 was distributed to our mailing list providing information on the meetings, refuge, and planning process. Meeting details follow:

Purpose of the CCP:
As part of the National Wildlife Refuge System, the Hakalau Forest Refuge is required to have a CCP in place to guide the management of fish, wildlife, plants, habitats and public uses for a period of 15 years.
