Salmon Relocation Takes Place Above Condit Dam

In preparation for the 2009 removal of Condit Dam on the White Salmon River in Washington, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service biologists and partners this Fall captured more than 400 hatchery Tule fall Chinook salmon and relocated them above the dam to study where they would spawn. When the dam is removed, salmon and other anadromous fish will have access to stretches of the river that have been blocked for nearly a century.
