Refuge to be Closed on December 24th, 25th and January 1st
in observance of the winter holidays

The White House has announced that Monday, December 24, 2012, is an official holiday. The Refuge will be closed and all employees are excused from duty on Monday, December 24th as well as Tuesday, December 25th, 2012. The Refuge will also be closed on January 1st, 2013 a regularly scheduled Federal holiday.

President Obama declared Friday in an Executive Order, “All executive departments and agencies will be closed Christmas Eve, giving federal employees a four-day weekend”. There are some exceptions to the holiday, where necessary.

Staff, volunteers, and Friends of the Refuge wish everyone a safe and happy holiday season! The Refuge will reopen at 10 a.m., Wednesday, December 26th and January 2nd, respectively.
