Migratory Bird Conservation in Washington

All native birds found commonly in the United States, with the exception of native resident game birds and introduced species are protected under the Migratory Bird Treaty Act. The Service's migratory bird conservation activities are focused on 4 primary areas:  population assessment; international, national and flyway coordination; habitat management; and regulating take. The Pacific Region cooperates with partners on the following projects in Washington:
