Study Area

This study encompasses the breeding range of the species in the U.S. and Mexico with the exception of the Caribbean and interior Mexico due to access issues.  Due to requirements of the Draft Recovery Plan for the ESA – listed population along the Pacific Coast, this segment of the species breeding range is also not included in this survey effort because it is well monitored.  The US Gulf Coast survey area will be covered in the spring of 2008. We will attempt to follow established protocols for the Pacific Coast population in our efforts wherever habitat and survey conditions are similar.
