Port of Blaine - Blaine, Washington

Wildlife Inspectors in this office are primarily responsible for the Canadian ports of entry at Blaine and Sumas, Washington. These inspectors also cover Customs ports of entry as far east as Eastport, Idaho. Interstate Highway 5 and the Pacific Highway cross the border at Blaine, WA. Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada"s third largest metropolitan area, is a thirty-minute drive from Blaine. There are large volumes of commercial and non-commercial activity at all times of the year. 

The territory covered by the Wildlife Inspectors spans 330 miles of international border.  The drive time from Blaine to Eastport, ID, is over 11 hours; from Blaine to Port Angeles, WA, is about five hours. The inspectors also provide support at over 22 U.S. Customs Service ports of entry across Washington and Idaho, including: 

During the hunting season, inspectors work with hunters importing their Canadian game through Service non-designated ports of entry to ensure Fish and Wildlife Service inspection and clearance procedures are followed. These special ports include Vancouver, Sumas, Oroville, Porthill, and Eastport.
