Port of Guam - Agana, Guam
Our office works closely with Guam Customs and Quarantine, and Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI) Quarantine (Saipan). Current regulatory and statutory requirements for conducting law enforcement operations at the Special Port of Agana, Guam, and in Saipan (CNMI) are predicated on a need to maintain a continuity of inspection operations in Guam and for the Islands of Saipan, Rota and Tinian in CNMI. Our work also requires continued cooperation with Guam and CNMI border personnel for monitoring direct international flights and ocean freight arriving directly from Japan, South Korea, China, Hong Kong, Taipei, Singapore, Indonesia, Philippines, Australia, and New Zealand. A similar need exists for direct flights and ocean arrivals from Palau, Yap, Chuuk, Pohnpei, and Koror. Illegal wildlife seizures are referred to the Wildlife Inspectors by border agencies. The inspectors also interdict arriving shipments containing live invasive species that could be detrimental to ecosystems in Guam or CNMI. The also interdict illegal trade as a function of monitoring and facilitating the legal wildlife trade.
