Idaho Aquarium Sentenced for Illegal Trafficking of Marine Life


The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service’s Law Enforcement Office, in partnership with NOAA Fisheries and the U.S. Attorney for Florida, announced that Idaho Aquarium, Inc. (IAI) of Boise, was sentenced today for conspiring to harvest, transport, and sell spotted eagle rays and lemon sharks, knowing that the marine life was taken, possessed, transported, and sold in violation of the Lacey Act. IAI, was sentenced to pay a fine of $10,000 and serve a three year probation.
