Outreach to Chemawa Indian High School in Salem, Oregon

Current Events

Watch DCR's video of images from the Chemawa Indian High School Health and Education Fair, held in Salem, Oregon. Approximately 400 students and faculty, as well as 30 agencies and private businesses participated in the event. Staff from DCR and the Regional office, as well the Willamette Valley NWR Complex interacted with students.

Also, in support of First Lady Michelle Obama's "Let's Move Outside" initiatve, a "Let's Move in Indian Country" 40,000 Step Challenge was a highlight for students who are committed to achieving the Presidential Active Lifestyle Award following 60 minutes of physical exercise per day for a period of six weeks.
