About Us

Water Resources Branch personnel oversee the water rights program for all Region 1 facilities, and provide hydrologic expertise to support natural resource decisions involving endangered species and other terrestrial and aquatic species.

We provide assistance in the areas of hydrology, hydraulics, sediment transport, water quality, water rights and water management policy.

Major on-going projects include the Klamath Basin Adjudication, and the Ruby Lake Study. Water resources projects often cross state and (occasionally) international boundaries. They are often inter-regional and frequently involve issues of Service-wide and Department-wide consequence.
