		<item><title>Final Management Plans Adopted for Oregon Coast Wildlife Refuges</title><description>The U. S. Fish and Wildlife Service (Service) adopted Final Comprehensive Conservation Plans (CCPs) for Bandon Marsh, Nestucca Bay, and Siletz Bay National Wildlife Refuges (Refuges). These plans provide goals, objectives, and strategies for management of the three Refuges over the next 15 years.

		<item><title>Leavenworth National Fish Hatchery Warns Visitors of High Water Hazards</title><description>As the weather warms and spring run-off increases, Leavenworth National Fish Hatchery is reminding visitors of the hazards posed by rising water levels. Swirling currents, debris and high water in Icicle Creek are hazardous to people and their pets, especially in areas near the Leavenworth National Fish Hatchery’s head gate dam. Boating, rafting, swimming, or wading in the vicinity of the hatchery head gate is particularly dangerous due to the strong currents and turbulence.

		<item><title>Free Kid's Fishing Day at Dworshak National Fish Hatchery</title><description>Dworshak National Fish Hatchery will partner with Nez Perce Tribal Fisheries to hold the 23nd annual Kid’s Fishing Day. The event will be on Saturday, May 18 from 8:00 am-1:00 pm, at Tunnel Pond near Orofino. All fishing gear and bait is provided and there will be ice to chill your catch. As in years past, parking at Tunnel Pond is limited so there will be a shuttle from the parking lot below Orofino High School, Riverside Ave, to the pond.

		<item><title>Toppenish National Wildlife Refuge Celebrates International Migratory Bird Day</title><description>Celebrate International Migratory Bird Day at Toppenish National Wildlife Refuge on Saturday, May 11, from 8:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.  Activities will include bird banding, guided bird walks, live raptor program, children's games, and hay rides.  The bird banding demonstration and first bird walk begin at 8:00 a.m.  Bring your binoculars! The Raptor House Rehabilitation Center will present a program with live hawks and owls at 10:00 a.m.  The refuge headquarters will be open with children's games and learning materials. This event is co-sponsored by the Yakima Valley Audubon Society and is free to the public.

		<item><title>FWS Invests $3.5 Million to Conserve Declining Warblers, Sandpipers and other Migratory Birds</title><description>Migratory birds throughout the Western Hemisphere received a boost this week when U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Director Dan Ashe approved $3.5 million in grants for 27 collaborative conservation projects across the Americas. These Neotropical Migratory Bird Conservation Act grants will leverage a 3.5-to-1 return for conservation, matching the Service's investment with about $12.5 million in private funds.  The projects will conserve more than 250,000 acres of migratory bird habitat, stimulate critical research into declining bird populations, and fund outreach programs to raise local awareness of conservation issues and solutions.
