The report and recommendations for Warm Springs National Fish Hatchery
(NFH) in the Deschutes Basin, the Leavenworth National Fish Hatchery
Complex in eastern Washington, and Eagle Creek NFH in the Clackamas
River Basin are complete and the final versions have been posted.
The review of NFHs in the Columbia River Gorge is now also complete
and includes programs at Carson NFH, Little White Salmon NFH, Willard
NFH and Spring Creek NFH. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is now
beginning the implementation process for recommendations at these
facilities.
Reviews of NFH programs in the Lower Snake Basin including Dworshak
NFH, Kooskia NFH and Hagerman NFH are now underway and the Lower
Snake NFHs draft report can be accessed through this website.
Please provide written comment by Monday,
October 27, 2008 to the address below. Stakeholder meetings for this
review were held September 29 in
Lewiston, Idaho (http://www.klewtv.com/news/local/29916934.html)
and September 30 in Boise, Idaho.
The review team has also initiated a review
of Lower Snake River Compensation Plan hatchery facilities in Idaho,
Oregon, and Washington. The draft of the first phase of this report
is expected to be available in February 2009.
