Make progress towards completing a status report on lake sturgeon in the
Ohio River Basin (Carterville FRO will coordinate)

Prepare and prioritize a list of fish species of concern in the Ohio
River Valley Ecosystem (Chad Stinson, Bob Butler, and representatives from
the Bloomington Field Office and the Illinois DNR)

Initiate status 1-2 surveys of fish species identified in Item 2.

Prepare GIS layers for species ranges identified in Item 2.

Determine upstream distribution of exotic fish species in the ecosystem
and prepare GIS layers.

Identify dams in the Ecosystem which are serving as barriers to the
upstream distribution of fish. (Deb Mignogno)

Develop proposal to determine overwintering requirements of Ohio
River fishes and identify overwintering habitat in the main river, backwaters,
and embayments. (Lead-Ohio River Fisheries Management Team, with Greg Conover,
Deb Mignogno, Scott Stuewe, and an Ohio DOW representative to be identified)

Begin scoping the development of a baseline fisheries monitoring
plan to measure the effects of Olmstead Lock and Dam on the lower Ohio
River. (Cookeville, TN ES Office, Carterville Fishery Resources Office,
Les Franklin-Illinois DNR)

Add projects identified by the sub-group as appropriate to the USFWS-Fisheries
Operating Needs System (FONS).
