Volunteers
-
Volunteers are the key to success for Greenspaces projects:
they are essential for accomplishing short term on-the-ground
work as well as long term assistance with planning and coordination.
-
All volunteers need guidance, instruction, support, and
encouragement.
-
Volunteers offer the most when the project background and
goals are well understood.
-
Tasks assigned to volunteers should be specific and doable.
-
Look for volunteers who live near the project site to assist
with tasks such as monitoring, maintenance, and storage of
tools and materials.
-
Inviting volunteers to assist with the project design helps
to build interest and commitment.
-
Have a back up source of labor in case tasks do not get completed
by volunteers during work parties.
