Implementation

Advice from previous Greenspaces grant project managers about ...

Implementation

  • Be flexible; nature and unexpected events may change or influence the project any time.

  • Select contractors who can adjust to the needs of the project, and provide supervision and guidance.

  • When purchasing plants, check the development of the root system in addition to plant size and health.

  • It may take several attempts to effectively complete a project; be patient, get advice from people that have done similar work, and apply new information as you go.

  • Randomly placed logs and plant debris can work well for closing trails and access points.

  • For implementation "events" or work parties, designate roving supervisors who can answer questions, provide instruction, check in with volunteers, and ensure correct and safe project installation.
