Administrative
Responsibilities
All
employment, staffing, purchasing, budget and other non-biological
administrative functions of the "Oregon Fish and
Wildlife Office" ( consisting of our main Portland
office, as well as our field offices in Roseburg, Bend,
Newport and LaGrande) are handled by the Administration
Division in the Portland office. We coordinate administrative
responsibilities for our employees statewide. We also
service the Oregon Fish
& Wildlife Office and field offices with support in database
and records management (including management of requests
for information and records under the Freedom of Information
Act), position advertisement and recruitment, pay, leave,
health and retirement benefits, as well as property and space
management.
Employment
Information
Please refer to the federal Office
of Personnel Management website for additional information
on employment opportunities, including qualification
information, application materials and nation-wide employment
listings.
Budget
The Budget
Division is responsible for the
formulation, execution, and tracking of the office budget,
including that of the field offices. The budget is comprised
of funding sources that include Endangered Species, Habitat
Conservation and Restoration, Environmental Contaminants,
and reimbursable and emergency response such as spills
and fire.
Budget personnel
provide guidance on issues of procurement, property and
contract terms and conditions. They manage a large number
of cooperative agreements and grants which cover a variety
of programs, including Forest Conservation, Jobs in the
Woods, Partners for Fish and Wildlife, Greenspaces, Information
and Education, Aquatic/Fisheries Resources, Endangered
Species, and Environmental Contaminants. The field office
contracts with and provides funds to other federal, state,
tribal and private agencies for on-the-ground projects,
research, and educational programs.
Contracting
Oregon
Fish & Wildlife Office contracts with a variety of
vendors, purchasing a wide range of supplies, as well as
equipment and services used in field activity.
Cooperative Agreements and Grants
These important
tools are used to assist others in their efforts to enhance
and restore habitat for fish, wildlife and plants. This
page provides an overview of Oregon Fish & Wildlife
Office''s many projects in this area.
The Oregon Fish
& Wildlife Office Portland office is the primary Fish
and Wildlife Service office in Oregon for responding to emergency
contaminants issues, including oil, chemical and pesticide
spills. Budget personnel are responsible for tracking costs
and submitting cost documentation packages related to these
issues.
