Environmental Assessment for the Ni-les’tun Unit of the
Bandon Marsh National Wildlife Refuge Wetland Restoration and North Bank Lane Improvement Project
The
U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service in cooperation with the Federal Highway
Administration (FHWA) are pleased to provide you with a copy of the
Environmental Assessment (EA) for the Ni-les'tun Unit of the Bandon
Marsh National Wildlife Refuge Wetland Restoration and North Bank Lane
Improvement Project. The project has two main parts. The first involves
the restoration of over 400 acres of tidal marsh at the Ni-les'tun Unit
of the Bandon Marsh National
Wildlife Refuge (Refuge). The restoration project will be accomplished
by removing dikes, filling drainage ditches, and reconstructing tidal
channels. The second part of the project is improvements to North
Bank Lane between US Highway 101 and Randolph Road that will include
raising the road and installing fish-friendly culverts at Fahys Creek
and Redd Creek.
The purpose of this web site is to announce the availability of the final EA, Section 4(f) de minimis evaluation, addendum for response to comments, and Decision and Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI). The Section 4(f) de minimis
evaluation pertains to the North Bank Lane improvements, which would
impact Refuge lands, a Section 4(f) resource under the Department of
Transportation Act of 1966. Download:
