About Us

The O‘ahu Forest NWR is part of the O‘ahu National Wildlife Refuge Complex. Located in the remote upper slopes of the Ko‘olau Mountains of central O‘ahu, the refuge is home to endangered pūpū kani oe, endangered plants species, and numerous native birds; including the ‘i‘iwi, pueo, and the endangered O‘ahu ‘elepaio.

This remote refuge is currently closed to the public in order to protect Hawai‘i’s endangered wildlife and human safety.
